Day 4: Cruising at Open Sea
Cruising took up the entire day all the way to Juneau and all the activities and amnesties on the cruise have helped us keep ourselves busy throughout the day. Unfortunately, the moderate swells, about 4′ to 7.5′, made the cruising rough for my wife due to seasickness. However, she managed to get through the day with activities and a night comedy show.
I realized that we didn’t take much pictures during the cruising day.
We managed to wake up in the morning to hit the fitness center to exercise to begin our day and then went to several presentations to learn more about Alaska and its nature such as way of life, glacier’s cyclical ecosystem, or bush pilots in Ketchikan.
Of course, we had some meals throughout the day. The meals are included in the cruise package but we had an ultimate dining package in the evening. Indeed, the dining package is for the whole week in specialty restaurants. The first night was La Bistro, the French Restaurant and it was great.
The following dinner later in the evening, we went to a ‘Not So Newlywed’ comedy show and we were selected to be on the stage by raffle ticket. My wife wasn’t really expecting to be on the stage and she doesn’t like to be a center of attention. Actually, I asked for a raffle ticket and hope that we will be selected. It was too funny because the show was all about marriage and how much our responses actually match or not. The more match we make, we score points. However, we lost the game. It was funny. Furthermore, 2 sign language interpreters participated for me as well so they can sign and facilitate the communication for me.
Back to the cabin for the night and discovered an animal being made out of towel. Norwegian is famous for this and usually found at different locations around the cabin each night.
Have a good night!
